Bishop's Card File

ark.jpg

One of my teachers once told me, if you discover something important write it
down for later.

Below is a collection of things I've
learned that are in my file box, that were mini and major aha moments.

My Card File

The purpose of this is to give you an example of how I keep my card file. A card file is to be a reference place where you can jot down any little bit of information, trivia or personal revelation that comes your way, so that you will remember those aha and wow moments, also be good idea's for future lessons, studies or sermons.

Below I have put the resource that I received the info from, the date if possible and then the information.

I hope you will find the files interesting and informative.

The Rod of Arron

It is said that the rod sprouted every year almonds. If God was pleased with Israel the almonds were sweet - if not they were sour. according to the Rabbi's the rod stopped sprouting 40 years before Jesus was born. It was like God was telling them to expect something.

Apple

After the Norman conquest many French words took over Olde English words. The French introduced the word “fruit”, which has the same meaning as today. The old English word for any fruit from a tree was “apple”. So when the old KJV writes that Adam ate the fruit of the tree the old English public thought apple. And so the lie began.

Do Not Forsake the Assembly

Where it says do not forsake the assembling of the brethren, the modern church takes this to mean the church on Sunday morning. What it is referring to is, we are not to forsake or abandon the Friday nite family shabbath service. Where the father is priest.

A shabbath service is to have 3 elements; the sabbath service, the study of scripture or teachings & finally prayer and blessings. The father is to bless each of the children, then with his finger write “YOD HEY VAV HAY” on their foreheads. A study has shown that the children that were blessed weekly by their fathers, were the most gifted & productive peoples group in the world.

Pentecost & the Rapture

Pentecost typifies the rapture, it has the symbols and applications which give it weight to say that Pentecost is the day of the rapture. The Jews start observing it on Thursday night thru Friday & Saturday. Jews now observe it on Sevon 6 & 7; but before they counted the moons, so it could have occurred on the 6th or 7th 8th or 9th it was called a feast without a date. Ergo, you won't know the day or the hour of Christs coming.

Ruth laid at Boaz's feet on Pentecost night, Boaz came and redeemed a gentile wife, So will Yeshua.

The Jews stay up all night on Pentecost praying and at some point the heavens might open and God will hear their prayers and they will be blessed by God and achieve spiritual perfection. In Acts 2 the apostles were praying in one accord, (staying up all night on Pentecost is called decorating the bride), then the heavens were opened & they received the Holy Spirit.

The first trump appeared on the first Pentecost So might the last, So keep looking up.

Curse or Blessing

John Barr stated that becoming a Torah Observant Christian can either become our greatest blessing or our greatest curse. If while we're obeying and learning the Torah and we use it to bring us a closer relationship to Yeshua and a better understanding of who The Father, The Son & Holy Spirit are & our faith grows it's a great blessing. However! If we use it to fall in love with Judaism and chase Rabbinical Judaism then its a curse and we fulfill the scripture of a dog returning to its vomit.

Good & Evil

The word “good” comes from the Hebrew word Tov, it means something that is functional or follows its design and purpose. The word “bad” or evil comes from the Hebrew word Ra, Which means dysfunctional.

So when God said at creation that it was good. He doesn't mean it pleased Him (although it probably did), rather He saw that it functioned properly.

2X Messianic Displays

John Barr spoke of the displays of God shows us in scripture of how it takes 2 attempts for Him to get Israels attention or how things come in 2 phases!

Moses & the Torah; Moshe came down w/ the tablets to find the people w/their golden calf. So he had to go up & get the tablets they accepted.

A Jewish Marriage; First the groom comes & presents the contract, later he comes back & claims his bride & consummates it.

Isaiah; Its says when Messiah returns, Israel will recognize Him. How can they “re” cognize Him if they hadn't cognized Him before.

Issac's kids & the Messianic Movement

John Barr spoke on how Issiac was the only patriarch who had only 1 wife who had 2 children who fought w/each other from the womb. In God's synagogue only 2 of his children are alive today; Pharisaical Judaism which is Rabbinical Judaism and the God-fearers which is The Body. The younger boy receives the elders birth right. The Body received the salvation of the Jews. From then on the boys were enemies in that the elder wanted the younger dead. Same as the Body and the Jews. Then the Lord made the younger return to the brother and prepared the older to receive his brother and they became close and lived forever in peace. One day the Lord will do the same with us and create the one new man.

The Mustard Seed

The 18th letter Tsadik means – a just or righteous one.

In Jewish thought a true Tsadikhim has the faith of a mustard seed. To them the mustard seed statement is not about the amount of faith but the quality of faith. The Tsadikhim has the faith of a mustard seed, for they are nothing. So when we realize we are nothing & God is everything then the mountains can be moved.

The Serpent

When Adam named the animals he noticed that the sun glimmered & glinted off the snakes back, so in Hebrew the word for snake means the shining one. So the shining one, the angel of light came to them. Which is more understandable as to why Eve would be deceived & Adam decided to disobey God.

Messianic Vision Sid Roth July 05

Sid believes many of our intercessors are to be called Shomer (watchmen), should start monthly Shomer meetings to pray for the Jewish people in their area and for outreach in Messianic vision. Tabitha

The child that Yeshua rose from the dead was not named Tabitha, it was a mistranslation. The scripture was describing Yeshua covering her with his Tallet and He spoke to his prayers shawl and said tallet arise. For in the tallet are the Tzi Tzi which are the tassels which represent all the commands and promises of God.

Prayer closet

When the word says that we are to go into our prayer closet. It means we are to cover ourselves with our tallet to close ourselves off with God.

The woman w/the issue of blood

When the woman reached out to touch the edge of his garment. It says she reached out and touched the Tzi Tzi of His tallet. The Tzi Tzi are the tassels that hang on the edge of the tallet, they consist of 613 knots that represent the 613 mitzvot (commands) of God, that He gave us in the Torah.

Rabbi Monk – Wisdom pg12

Aleph – Beis

The Aleph – Beis is a source book of values, priorities, perspectives and an understanding of the Divine scheme of creation.

As such the Aleph – Beis can serve as a manual for human conduct and guide man in his thoughts and deeds.

What this means is that the Hebrew letters can be used when you understand what each letter means as a manual for life. So God did give us a manual for living right.

Everlasting Tradition by Galen Peterson pg 22

Deut. 6:5 All Your Heart

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul & with all your might” In the culture of Israel the heart was thought to be the place of your consciousness. The other two words – soul and might were used as an added emphasis, meaning “all of you”.

Everlasting Tradition pg 17

Anti – Antisemitism

In the 4th century the church of Constantine mandated acceptance of this profession.

I renounce all customs, rite, legalisms, unleavened breads & feasts of lambs of the Hebrews, sacrifices, prayers, aspersions, purifications, sanctifications and propitiations and fasts and new moons and Sabbaths, and superstitions, and hymns and chants and observances and synagogues and the food & drink of the Hebrews; in one word I renounce absolutely everything Jewish, every law, rite and custom...

(personal note) This is where the “church” cut its ties to God, lost its covenant rights, and started on the wide path.

The Everlasting Tradition pg 43,44

Blessing

The Talmud says “anything which is enjoyed requires a blessing” Each of them begins with a basic affirmation of God's sovereignty, “Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the universe” followed by a specific acknowledgement of his accomplishments. IE; (thunder) Whose might and power fill the world. Or (rainbows)... who remembers the Covenant, is faithful to covenant and keeps His word.

Counting for God

The Omer came came to be associated w/.the period of time that led up to Shavuot (Pentecost) or the Feast of Weeks. For 50 days we count, a counting benediction is said for 50 days:

Blessed are you O Lord our God King of the universe, who has sanctified us by the counting of the Omer.

This is the _____day, being __weeks &__ days of the Omer.

IE: “ 25 “ 3 “ 4 “

This is meant to keep our anticipation up & love for God fresh until his next feast & move.

The Everlasting Tradition Pg 52 - 53

Daniel's Countdown

Daniel foretold when the Messiah would come. He said Messiah would come in 69 weeks of years or 173,880 days to be exact, after the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem was issued. Nearly a century later, two declarations were issued by King Artaxerxes 1 of Persia. First in 458 BC said the exiles can return with Ezra. The second in 445 when he said the walls could go up, then the countdown started. Therefore, the Messiah had to come in the early part of the first century AD. Some scholars calculate when the the counter hit 0, a Galilean named Yeshua entered Jerusalem on a donkey as Zachariah said the Messiah would do.

The Everlasting Tradition Pg106 – 107

The Four Sons of Passover

The four questions of the passover were given to Yeshua in Mathew 22.

The wicked son - a ? designed to entrap him.

The simple son – an ignorant ? about the resurrection.

The wise son – a common sense ? about obedience to God.

The naive son – unable to ask son – the chapter concludes “nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask him another ?.

Jewish Believers

Even though the majority of the people of Yeshua's day rejected Him. A faithful Jewish remnant believed. This number is greater that many assume – over two hundred thousand Jews became followers in the first century alone.

The Everlasting Tradition pg 48

Kneeling

Mark 17 “a man ran up to Him and fell on his knees.” Barak, “to bless” has the same Hebrew root as the human knee berek. There is a symbolic picture in this word, it shows a subject on their knees before a king. The3 king alone determines weather or not to grant a favour. The king has all the power the subject has none. Blessings originate from someone with authority and given to someone in humility.

The Everlasting Tradition pg 94

The Red Sash

Every year on the Day of Atonement, the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies to sprinkle the blood of a sacrificed goat as an offering for the sins of the people. A second goat was to be the scapegoat and a red sash was tied around its horns. The priest then laid his hands on its head and it was sent into the wilderness, symbolic of sending away the sins of the people. It was escorted by a priest who waited to re;ease the goat until a specific sign from God was given: The red sash would turn white, to show God accepted the sacrifice & forgave the sins of the people. This happened yearly without fail – the sash always changed color up until the year Yeshua died on the cross. It never changed again after that.

The Everlasting Tradition pg 14

Superstitions

A superstition can evolve as we lose an events original meaning , for example – crossing fingers for luck and knocking on wood for protection from evil. Both customs derive from power coming from identifying with the cross of the crucifixion. One the pattern of the cross is made the other is the material of the cross is the object.

Festival of Lights

Sukkot is known as the “Feast of Lights”, cause they put great lights in the temple. The day following Sukkot is known as Shimini Atzeret & is attached to the feast. It was on this day that Yeshua declared in the midst of these lights that He was the Light of the world.

Sukkot

Sukkot is often referre3d to as the “season of our Joy”, - this is why it is the appointed time for Yeshua's birth.

According to Gen: 47; 13 – 26 Pharaoh owned all the people in Egypt except for the Egyptian priests. This would include the slaves. Therefore, to go to the promised land they would have to be set free from his ownership. Moses asked Pharaoh to let his people go for 3 days to hold a festival for God. Pharaoh transgressed his own orders by pursuing the; therefore, he was responsible for his own death. If he had waited, Moshe would have had to return with the slaves, for God cannot lie or steal. The Pharaoh's death freed any claim on the Israelites & they were free to go.

Sin

In the Old Testament there were 6 Hebrew words for sin.

The 1st 3 are general, speaking of any evil.

Avel - meaning wickedness, injustice, wrong

Rasha – meaning wicked, cruel, evil

Zadon – meaning wickedness evil, insolence, malice

The next 3 involve intent, which is how God classifies sin.

Avon – translate iniquity, Avah is the root word, simply means “to sin” & is used in scripture for intentional sin.

Fesha, translates willful sin. Pesha is its root & means “to sin or to rebel, Pesha describes sin done with the intent of angering God.

Khata-ah – translates error. Khata is its root & means to sin, transgress or miss. Khata-ah is used for unintentional sin, sin that is done from carelessness.

  • Yod alludes to the unseen Divine hand of creation

Pesach & the lamb

Ex; 12; 6, on the 14th day the lamb was killed in the evening. In Hebrew “in the evening” would be said”bain Ha arbayim” (literally translates “between the evenings”) The temple day had 4 quarters, noon to 3 was the minor evening oblation, while 3 to 6pm was the major oblation. Therefore , “between the evenings” meant the lamb was slain at 3pm,

The hours were counted from daylight (6am) till sundown(6pm). The ninth hour then Yeshua was slain would therefore be 3pm. The same time the lamb had been slain in Egypt.

Einstein Quote

I always remained a child. I always ask the simplest question. Adults don't ask questions on the relativity only children do.

James lead the first Body (church), Why?

The catholic statement that Peter was the first pope is an unbiblical lie. The Word states that James the brother of Yeshua(Jesus) was the head of the Body or church.

James – the brother of Jesus did not believe in Yeshua as the Messiah when He was alive. Yet it say when after the resurrection, Jesus appeared to Peter & James. Why, was James immediately in charge. In Jewish tradition when a brother dies the next brother becomes responsible for her. Therefore, when Jesus rose, He left behind His bride (the church).

arguments against “keeping the Sabbath”

Matthew 5: 17-20 At the council of Nicea (325AD) Constantine was very anti- semetic, he started his own church, passed laws forbidding Jewish believers to circumcise their children. Passover was replaced by Estar (the Babylonian fertility goddess). Sukkot was replaced by Ha Machiachmas (the Roman birthday of the sun god) & so on. Personnel Revelation:

Chanakah Celebration

It hit me as a quiet revelation. How can I celebrate the season and enjoy it, Xmas to me is pagan & wrong. Chanukah is about the Maccabees.

Chanukah is the Feast of Dedication. The temples were all dedicated on the day. The dradel celebrates, “a great miracle occurred here!” We know that Yeshua was born on Sukkot, so what of now?

This is the time that the Father dedicated His Son to the world & what greater miracle could there be than for a virgin to conceive a child, and he shall be called Wonderful, Counselor.... each of which is a name for the feasts of God

The Heart of God

While talking to Velma, this revelation hit me. The Jews and Messianic believers started together. The Jews moved off and God is moving many back to the savior, & the Messianic believers became Christians, & now God is moving them back to the Jewish root. When you look at it on paper it draws a heart.

Adonai's Iceberg

One day on Deanna's computer I saw this awesome photo of an iceberg. The next day @ lunch with Velma, Darrell and Andrew, I was trying to describe my theory of the learning to ignorance factor.

Imagine your near the top of the west wall, you look down and see all you've learned then you look at the small bit you still have to cover and feel you've almost made it. Then you crest the top and see the vastness of the subject. Then you realize the depth under the water & you realize that eternity is just not long enough.

The Inner Tent & Blood

In Heb. 9:7 it says that the High Priest only enters the Holy of Holies once a year and that he must bring blood, to pay for his sin and the peoples.

Now that the curtain is torn & we can enter freely into God's presence. The Law hasn't changed, we are still bringing blood in to pay for our sins, but, now its covering us and its His Sons.

The Smell of Sin

As I was doing my 613 at Tims. They must have been making a sandwich for someone, cause all of a sudden I could smell the sweet odor of bacon. Which reminded me of a time when Avner & Leah were with me at Tims and they had to get out because they had gotten to the point that that scent was making them ill. Which then the thought came to me.

For those of us who came out of the world, we have been armed with special weapons and knowledge of the enemy. We know what sin smell like, we know it tastes sweet & has a power to attract. But, instead of fleeing from it we have the power to attack and defeat it.

April 9

The Word holds the world together.

I remember Sam Peak say on his show that the Rabbis state that the Aleph – Bet, when God spoke it from Aleph to Tav the world was created and that all that is on and around it and the existence of it holds the world together.

In Colossians 1:17 it restates this as Yeshua who holds everything. For He is the Word of God.
